Quatermass
According to IMDb, a new version of The Quatermass Experiment was shown on BBC4 earlier this month. I wonder how long it will take to get around the other side of the planet. The cast list includes David Tennant - the new Doctor.
I only found the listing because I was looking up the Quatermass (aka Quatermass conclusion or Quatermass IV). I watched this piece of late '70s British SF a couple of days ago. I cannot believe how slow paced it was. I just couldn't get involved because it took hours for anything to happen. Not helped that the production quality was not up to the "high" standards of the Dr Who episodes and Blakes 7 from the same era. And who was the fool that thought Simon MacCorkindale could act?
My experience was not helped by a bit of a strategic mistake on my part. The DVD I was lent contained two versions. The original four part TV episode and a version recut into a movie. I really should have watched the movie length version - it might have helped the pacing and eased the pain.
