Its fine and sunny right now

"It must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays" - Arthur Dent

"Outlook for Thursday, your guess is as good as mine" - Dave Dobbin

"Niwa statistics confirm the outlook for Thursdays is fine - or at least better, as it has proved to be the least likely day for rain." - article in todays DomPost

That article says that it has rained on 84 days so far this year - that is a bit more than a third. It hints at but does not say what I suspect is that most of those days are in the last three months.

Can I just say that with spring starting on Monday, that I am really sick of the rain. I used to defend Wellington's weather. I suppose I still can - the rest of the country is even wetter.

I know talking about the weather is the default when you have nothing else in common. But some days you just need to say something.

The good thing about Thursday is that it is Friday tomorrow. Fine and sunny here and lots of spring blossoms about.

Sometimes I think our entire working existence can be boiled down to "how long 'til friday?"

Amazingly, some spring blossoms are out here too despite all the rain.

Or you're an Aucklander... :p

I am so enjoying this change in the weather. There was actual sun today. They've opened our field in celebration. (or though in reality, it's not so much that you no longer sink to your ankles in mud as you only sink to your ankles in mud on 2/3 of it)

Yep, it was really nice here too today - Thursday after all.

Mud isn't so bad - its the threat of slips that gets me here. There was a small one further down the street I'm on and a much bigger one visible from the windows at work.

I thought you were a Wellingtonian. BTW are you popping over for Conflux?

I've spend nearly half my life here in Welly, but I'm originally from the South Island. People back home often make jibes about Wellington's weather to me and I find myself telling them, quite honestly, how much better it is than Christchurch's weather.

...and yes, I have booked everything for Conflux.
