DVD chains
So I started to watch the "Best of Dave Allen" DVD. I couldn't get into it - all the jokes which seemed so funny three quarters of a lifetime ago now just seem sad.
Then I did what I really wanted to do - watch Wonderfalls. I got it back from Flo last night and obsessively watched the first disk. Tonight the second disk. Somehow I think I know what is in store for tomorrow.
This leads to an unsetting insight into my mental processes:
- I got Wonderfalls back from Flo yesterday.
- I lent "Dead Like Me" to Flo today.
- This is the end of the chain - Buffy -> Angel -> Firefly -> Wonderfalls -> Dead like me.
- I don't know what comes next, if anything.
- what am I going to lend to Flo next?
- what am I going to watch obsessively next?
- *panic*

Whats Wonderfalls? I like the Buffy-Angel-Firefly chain, soam leaning towards trusting your judgement on other things.
Cheers,

The link from Firefly to Wonderfalls is Tim Minear - he was exec producer on Firefly, wrote 2 scripts and co-wrote 2 more with Joss Whedon and directed one ep.
He was executive producer on Wonderfalls and also wrote a couple of scripts for it. Another show canceled by Fox and now out on DVD. I read the reviews on Amazon.com and decided it was worth a punt. The reviews there can do it much more justice than I can here and I suggest you have a read of them. But I can say that as far as I am concerned it is a five star, charming, funny, intelligent, brilliantly cast show. I just lent it to Flo who is part of our little Buffy fan DVD sharing group here at work and she loved it too.
