Just how in hell did that happen

I went to the Phoenix AGM with a firm intention of not being on the committee this year. Damn that sense of responsibility. Even after I was nominated, I was thinking - if there are more than enough candidates on the ballot I can withdraw in a "lets make this easier" gesture - but no, the ballot wasn't even filled. You have to be a bit concerned for the future of a club when you can't even fill all the positions on the committee and many of those who do make it do so reluctantly.

Well hey, I somehow ended up as secretary. Responsibility! Me! They don't really go together. Hang on, was it you that nominated me?

It was me who nominated you. It isn't that big a responsibility really - I have done my stint in the past so I know what is involved. People help each other out on the committee anyway so you won't get stuck with anything you can't handle.

The club needs new smart people on the committee which means you are just what we need. But the fact that you ended up with secretary shows how well my planning was going last night. The idea was that nominating you for secretary would probably end up with you not getting the job - I expected Lynelle or Kath to get that role. But with your name in the frame you were a sure thing for the regular committee membership. It has worked that way several times in the past. So much for history repeating.

David was railroaded into treasurer again

Annette, Lynelle & I make up the numbers

OK And who is doing the zine? I, in theory, could be on the commettee now, if it wasn't for my transportation problems :P And can you remeber who was supposed to be the vice presedent last year?

The veep last year was Katie - well until she resigned. I don't think we appointed a replacement. I do remember that the last time VP became vacant, the position was decided by a coin toss between Hollis and me.
