I enjoyed most of them - the quality strike rate for my tastes was very high indeed.
I don't have the book in front of me to check, but as I recall, I was just referring to "another alternate history" as part of the description of the first story. As you say, I may have misread or misremembered but that suggested to me that it had originally been later in the collection and moved forward. Not a biggie, but I was looking for something different to write about.
