Among the features included in my ISP's offerings is the provision for multiple (well 5) email addresses for my account. Rather than let them go to waste, I did a bit of cybersquatting and grabbed as many likely names as I was allowed. I only ever use two of them, so the other three have never been used in any way at all. One of these addresses still gets rather a lot of spam while the other two are completely free of it. I figure it is more guessable by the spammers that the others - sciencefiction(at)ispname being more obvious that ffanz(at)ispname.

However the spam filter is very effective and virtually nothing makes it through to the inbox. Today there was actually something in my inbox. A little ditty starting "Call out Gouranga be happy". I should have just deleted it, but I looked it up in Wikipedia instead. It turns out that it is this whole pop culture phenomenon - albeit a small and insignificant one.
