There is a long standing tradition in offices that, when somebody leaves, the remaining people ensure that the office supplies that they leave behind are recycled to ensure that nothing is wasted. This behavior is a fine use of the office natural resource and only the totally uninformed would stoop to consider it scavenging. Accusations of looting are, of course, just completely off the mark.
So with our current reorganisation going on, there is ample opportunity for the dedicated environmentally conscious person to find items of value which can be put to a better use. There can be no better example than the fine exhibition of enterprise by the dedicated members of the Quality Assurance team as they can be seen searching through boxes of promotional material in search of inflatable beach ball globes with which to adorn their cubicles.
I myself have found some very useful material which I am sure will be put to good use. I now have a pristine condition welcome pack for new employees. Apart from the orientation booklets, there is a very nice greeting card with the words "It's great to have you here" on the outside and "Welcome to our team" on the inside. I am sure there must be a good use for this card.
