It was Phoenix tonight and I actually worked up the energy to attend. There was a discussion of TV show which prompted me to think that I should update my watching notes. Not that there is much going on - northern hemisphere summer means not many new shows. Burn Notice was mentioned during the meeting and from my viewing it does seem worth watching. The premise of a spy who has been kicked out so he has to make a living as a person who helps people out is an old one. But the execution looks to be excellent with some top casting and a snazzy line in voice overs. By the way, it is really quite funny. The second episode wasn't as good as the first but still looks worth a watch.

I gave Jekyll a second chance and I'm glad I did. There has been a lot of care and attention been lavished on this show to make it really interesting. Again, the casting is excellent.

I had a brief nostalgia moment today thinking about how much effort we all put in to get fifth generation VHS tapes of shows within only a couple of months of them screening in the States. Today I watched the first episode of season 2 of Eureka about 3 hours after it finished screening in the States. Y'know this has been possible for a while now but it still impresses the heck out of me.

So people tell me. I have it, but I decided to re-watch the mini-series & season 1 before starting on season 2. I have tried a couple of times and I just can't sustain interest all the way through a repeat of season 1.

I guess I just have to forget that idea and plunge straight into s2.

I understand the re-watching - we did it too - but it's probably not entirely necessary; there's a lot of follow through, of course, but nothing you shouldn't remember anyway. Watch the last episode or two! - then jump into it.

Roger Wilco. It is cold and wet today, I think I will spend the rest of the day on that project.

Excellent!! It's cold and wet here, too... I think I will watch the end of Stargate Atlantis s2... maybe go to the movies... BTW I don't think s3 of BSG is officially available yet, but I noticed (for some obscure reason) that they already have the episode listing for s4 on IMDB, with release dates of Jan 08: it will be the last season, apparently.

BSG is on the SciFi channel isn't it? They are much more organised about things like screening dates than the broadcast networks.

Ah; lucky people who have cable TV! Yes, I think it is on SciFi, but s3 will have finished by now - I think.

Oh yes, it is well finished - end of March in the states. DVDs probably next month but no official date yet.

Yeh, that's what I thought. We couldn't wait from the end of s2, knowing that 3 had been shown, so we committed a bit of piracy - but can't wait to have the 'real' version, to watch it properly!

I didn't like the first Jekyll, what gets better?

The story/action. The first one was preoccupied with too setting up the premise - things got rolling in the second episode. Your mileage may vary.

I've just climbed aboard the BSG comet by watching the miniseries (twice! - I was at home sick so I watched whilst my wife was at work, and then we watched it last night.)

I'm very impressed - I think I'm going to have to write a long post about it.

All this enthusiasm for BSG - I really am going to have to get on and watch the second and third seasons.

Hope you are feeling better.

I'm not much of a TV watcher, but I gave BSG a spin over Christmas hols. Watched the entire second season en route to Bahrain. It's a great show.

And now, despite myself, I'm hooked on LOST. Someone has finally written a series with me in mind. Nearly finished season 1 - off today to find season 2.

There was something else I was supposed to be doing, but I can't remember what it was.

In the time between the original post and this comment, I have watched all of BSG season 2. I'm not sure that all that emotional intensity in one big hit is a good idea.

I managed to escape the Lost trap early and am steadfast about never watching it again otherwise I am sure I will be sucked back in.

Something else"? - like write a book, compile an atlas... :-)
