This article describes a University of Waikato survey into really annoying songs. It was a survey conducted over the Internet and publicised on the Stuff web site which is widely read across New Zealand (at least). The results of the survey are mildly amusing but what caught my attention was the assumption by the reporter that the survey was of only Waikato opinions. It is a very sloppy piece of reporting - heck, you only need to look at the survey to see that it asks for nationality and makes no mention of being just for the Waikato. Its not like the survey is even finished. Unfortunately this standard of research seems only too common in the provincial newspapers.

I personally voted for Whitney Houston's "I will always love you" - and no I do not live in the Waikato.
