item 1 - I work for a bank. It performs lots of international transactions. It is quite common for our operational folks to need to translate various bit of information that they get.
item 2 - the internet gateway at the bank has an "undesirable material" filter. It blocks people from viewing porn or sites with hidden nasties etc.
So when I tried to use babelfish this morning, it wouldn't give me access. The internet filter blocked my access to it. It also blocked access to a number of other translation sites. I and others around the workplace just can't figure it out. It isn't just me either - nobody is given access to these sites.
Why did I want to use babelfish? I needed to set up a user ID on blogger.com to get access to the Phoenix blog. Threemonkeys was already taken (grrr). Long story short - my new user id on blogger is mittsusaru.
