Class traitor
Dec. 16th, 2005 11:56 amThis is the second time this year that I feel like I have betrayed by geek heritage by my purchase choices.
This time I was looking at my phone. The one I have had for the last while is a Treo - it is a PDA and phone combined with the various possibilities that such an arrangement provides. However as a phone, it has become somewhat erratic - dropping calls and chewing through battery life too fast. But as a PDA, it still works fine. So do I shell out serious bucks for a new Treo or similar or do I buy a cheap phone.
The geek option would be to buy the new leading edge best toy on the market. I bought the next-to-cheapest phone that I could find.
The thing is, the almost cheapest phone on the market has a PXT camera, video/multimedia message playback, downloadable MP3 ringtones, triband, wap, organiser, event lights and more. I blinked and the market changed. So what does this mean - new toy with lots of shiny functions to play with.
