I try to keep this blog car free. It would be too easy to just drop a "drivers are idiots" comment every time I couldn't think of anything else to say, and that gets old really fast. Ignoring that, today I took my car in for a service which means that I came home via the motorway tunnel. There was a bunch of road works going on there. This is the first visual evidence that I have seen that the bypass is finally getting going - well I think so anyway. I didn't believe I would ever see it actually happen. In some form or another, this has been a topic of debate ever since I moved to Wellington.
Even more significant is that after the garage finished servicing my car, they washed it! It has been so long since my car was clean that I almost forgot how it looks clean. I do keep the windows clean, but the allow wheels are so fiddly to clean that I just don't bother. Rain may clean the rest of the car from time to time, but it does not get the wheels. I wonder how long it will stay looking clean?
