Some of us tip right over the edge.

Finished Wonderfalls disk 3 - that should do it for a week or two.

Now its time to do some reading - I just did a count and there are 68 books on my "to read" shelf. That isn't counting the 2 books currently in flight. For most of the last 6 months I had the backlog under 50 but its getting out of control again.

What's on your bookshelf to read?

I've got Coraline, the Cecelia Dart-Thornton trilogy (still), an illustrated social atlas of China, a book on cryptography, Perdido Street Station, Alaister Reynolds (all of them) and a pile of stuff bought at Swancon.

Curious about the reading habits of others.

Too many to list, but I can say that ASIM #17 will be first cab off the rank when the current two are done. Others scheduled for an early read are titles by Kage Baker (x 2), Alistair Reynolds, Robert Charles Wilson, Jonanthan Letham (x 2), Sean Stewart, Sean William and Robert Reed.

Not necessarily representative of my overall preferences but may give a pointer to style choice.

Which book on cryptography?

Steven Levy - Crypto - How the Code Rebels Beat the Government - Saving Privacy in the Digital Age.

Have no idea about the quality. Will suck it and see.

That is one I have been wondering about. Let me know how it goes.

I'm particularly interested in how easy it is to read. When I read pop science and the like, I find that a lot of the writers just don't express the ideas clearly.
