My hand is a lot better. Good enough to drive, so I went to The Warehouse and bought more kitset furniture. This time a couple of little bedside cabinets to replace the old speakers that my clock-radio, bedside light etc all stood on. The speakers aren't even connected anymore, so no loss there.
I also read Worlds That Weren't, a collection of four alternate history novellas by different authors. Nothing great really. Turtledove was, as always, sound, Walter Jon Williams had an interesting idea (Nietzsche in the American West) but average execution. S.M. Sterling and Mary Gentle entirely forgettable. As with previous Mary Gentle stories, I kept losing track of what was going on because I kept missing transitions. There seems to be an incompatibility between her writing style and my reading style.
