I noticed that there was a film tonight on Sky starring Madchen Amick. So obviously, I wandered along to Amazon.com to see if the DVD of season 2 of Twin Peaks has been scheduled for release. Well there is a release date there - December 31 1969. I know Twin Peaks is strange, but really!

It isn't just Twin Peaks - the Mirrormask DVD is scheduled for release December 31 2025.

Yep. There's a post about that somewhere in Neil Gaiman's blog. Apparently Amazon started using silly release dates when they don't know what it really is. Myself, saying "To be announced" would make more sense, but hey, it's their web site.

I wonder if there is a meaning to the dates. Maybe 2025 means "sometime in the next year". 1969 means "we haven't a clue if it will ever come out" - which is what I fear is the case for TP.
