It often seems pointless to talk about the wind in this town. Short of a hurricane, people just take the breeze in their stride. So what does it take us to talk about it at work? The discovery of a cool web site seems to do the trick. It has probably been available for ages but we only found it today - pity you have to pay for extra info.

That is extremely cool. Pity there's not a lot of wind-surfing done in the inner harbour, where I work - we could do with a sensor here. Sometimes when I come out of the office I get flattened.

several more zephyrometer would be really useful arround the city. Painted in different colours of course, they don't have to be all orange. This webcam http://www.citylink.co.nz/services/webcam/zephyrometer/ shows the existing one, but the placement and resolution isn't really satisfactory.
