It has been rather cold the last few days. A real Antarctic chill. So what did I eat? Ice cream. OK, so not my only food source, but I did have a bowl every day of the cold snap. I have noticed over the years that I do eat more ice cream in the winter than during the warmest times of the year. That just seems counter intuitive.

Still warmer weather is on its way. One sign is that my neighbour and his son have been out practising cricket by their garage. Every time the ball hits the metal garage door there is a loud crash that reverberates right through my house. Since the door represents the behind the wicket area, my best hope is that they get better at the game and don't let so many through.

Oh, I believe you about the weight gain thing during cold weather. The springtime diet seems to be an annual ritual amongst a certain part of society.
