Dollhouse made its debut last night. I was expecting there to be vast amounts of comment around the wires. But no - a bit here and there among the likely suspects but not much at all.
It could be the friday night factor, but rather I think all the Whedon fans are in shock. They don't know what to say about it. It didn't exactly suck. Not quite. But it was missing something. A Joss Whedon show without all the witty banter is like a broken pencil - pointless.
But then I was thinking about it a bit and realised that we shouldn't be thinking of it as a Joss Whedon show. Its an Eliza Dushku show. It was designed as a vehicle to show off her *ahem* skills. It certainly sets the expectation levels a lot lower if you think of it that way.
I'll keep watching and hope to be surprised.
