threemonkeysThere I was eating a nice hot curry for lunch, when... crunch! I bit into something hard. Only it wasn't a foreign body in the curry - it was a bit of my own tooth which had detached itself. Arrrrhhh.
Its just a corner point of a molar and it does not hurt, but it sure is annoying. My tongue just seeks out the jagged edges. It means a visit to the dentist and the pain of paying his bill.
This is the second one this year and there will be more over the next few years - there are a number of hairline cracks in my teeth which could just let go. It may be that my "go to cons" fund may end up being spent on crowns instead. *sigh*

Date: 2005-11-24 07:17 pm (UTC)Strangely enough it didn't really ruin the meal - I had nice friendly company who got me past the immediate shock. It was later in the afternoon that it got really annoying as my tongue kept catching the jagged edge.
