It isn't just the towels that are terrible
Feb. 6th, 2006 07:17 pmI like American Football. It is like a brutal full contact sport played at the speed of a cricket match - that may not sound appealing to you but it works for me. During the season I watch a couple of games a week courtesy of ESPN (and indirectly ABC). The time commitment isn't as big as you might think - it is possible to read or somesuch and still follow the game. Great for the couch potato multitasker.
So today is the Superbowl. The big day for the sport - one of the major sporting events on the planet. So why does ESPN broadcast with second rate coverage. All through the regular season and the playoffs, the top ESPN and ABC (both channels owned by Disney) commentators deliver to my TV. Now suddenly we get the dregs from the European league giving the baby-talk version of commentary. I just don't get it - they do it every year. Why disgrace the game that way. Especially this year when ABC is the primary broadcaster.
That and I was kinda hoping the Seahawks would win.
OK, I'm better now. I just had to get that out.
