Have I mentioned that I live in a quiet neighbourhood? A really quiet neighbourhood. So sirens, brake screech, running, more sirens and voices in the middle of the night are not a usual thing. I didn't go investigate until I heard the voices say "well done - good job" - I figure that if the voices (the police) wanted me around before that they would knock on the door otherwise I would be in the way. It turns out they were pursuing a stolen car. The driver parked the car in my driveway and ran off on foot. In my driveway!!! The cops gave me those details and told me a tow truck would be there soon to take the car away. The car was taken away about an hour later. Now all that is left is a skidmark where the road becomes driveway to show that it happened. Surreal. Of course the surreal feeling may be because it is the third sunny day in a row and I'm just not used to that happening this winter.
