It has taken me until now to unpack and put away all my stuff from the trans-Tasman trip. You could put it down to indolence or post-con fatigue, but the main factor is that the connective tissue in my joints has decided to punish me for cooping it up inside an aircraft cabin. This is why I struggle with travel.

In other related news, due to population pressure, the contents of my to-read shelf have made an attack on the next shelf up. They have made a major invasion and established a large bridgehead along the front of this deep shelf. Such aggression cannot be tolerated and will have to be dealt with by mounting a reading counterattack over the next few months.

The leaders seem to be small press titles and big fat space opera trade editions. A surgical preemptive strike against those troublemakers might have done some good if executed early enough. I suggest read early and read hard. Then exile to the general shelves - splitting up the miscreants using the secret weapon of alphabetisation.

Ah... well... I think that perhaps a pre-emptive strike on the piles beside my bed might be the first trick... Thank goodness for school holidays, hopefully separation strategies might reduce plotting and general shenanigans - or at least inhibit development of coherent takeover plans!

Ooh - thanks for the school holiday reminder. Looks like I have 2 weeks to get stuff done before I have to start avoiding city streets and shopping malls because of a different type of ravening horde.
