I have been grumbling about lack of bookshelf room for a while. The problem is that I am running out of walls to put bookshelves against and the rooms are too small for freestanding units.

I have known what I needed to do for quite a while however. Some of my existing shelves were not very efficient. So the idea was to replace them with more efficient shelves.

Today it happened. The trigger was that my sofa is in dire need of replacement too. I have figured out the new sofa I want - it is longer than my current one. Unfortunately there is no spare room between the doorway and the bookcase for a bigger sofa. So I came up with a bright idea of replacing the bookshelf with a shorter one to make more room. This leaves me with the longer one to find a home for. And the longer one is quite an efficient one. So why not buy yet another shelf and do the replacement job. And then it snowballed from there.

So today I bought 3 kitset bookcases and assembled them. I took the books off three existing shelves. Disassembling two of them, reassembling one in a different configuration and moving the third one. Then place the 3 new ones in place and start filling them with books. Books are heavy. I am knackered.

I rotated the lounge room 90 degrees anti-clockwise today. Am also absolutely buggered. It was far easier moving the kit-set bookshelves than it was to move the TV.
