The Zenith Angle by Bruce Sterling is a rant. A political and technological violent outpouring of opinion disguised as a novel. Sterling rants a lot, either in person or in print. But never before in print "fiction" like this. The dot com boom, Alphabet soup government agencies, Internet security, Microsoft, Worldcom, the politics of fear, military stupidity and much more. Its all there in the 911 aftermath.

Compelling and tedious at the same time. It is supposed to be a thriller. It may be supposed to be funny. It isn't either. Its a rant. I said that already.

Nicely put. This time it seems the general incompetence of government and the telco industry has got under his skin.
