Mmmmmm - chocolate cherry gateau for afternoon tea. Unscheduled yummyness delivered by our department head. As far as I can tell its a celebration of the fact that we are neither Operations nor Marketing. Not exactly a clear reason for a celebration.

Who cares its chocolate. Mmmmmmmmmm!

We occasionally have celebrations that we're not teaching staff. But they usually involve sitting in a group and saying "Thank god we're not teaching"

Cherry-chocolate gateau is a much better celebratory technique.

By way of clarification, I should perhaps note that our business unit us just starting to undergo a reorganisation. There is always pain associated with such a thing although as yet nothing has come the way of our department. The cake was a bit of stress relief for us as we watch the pain of our colleagues in other areas.

Cake is its own reason to celebrate, really. I'm sitting here with half a carrot cake sitting beside me. Apparently it's because tonight is my last night on shift (I worked a few extra). But I think that's an excuse, because we also had one last night when someone else had a vague excuse, and there was something the week before... and this is why my uniform pants don't fit nearly so well anymore :-).
